As a Metrology Engineer, you'll refine and implement precise measurement processes crucial for top-quality defense manufacturing. You'll be a key player in advancing Anduril's digital and autonomous production, applying your knowledge in 3D scanning, optical metrology, and simulations. Your role involves early collaboration with various teams to integrate metrology for real-time verification and quality control, enhancing product monitoring. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in precision measurement, digital twins, automation, GD&T and process improvement. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate metrology early in development for better risk management and process verification.
  • Define and implement a metrology roadmap that supports Anduril's production and manufacturing goals.
  • Lead design and manufacturing of inspection gages that will support production inline inspection and receiving inspections. Mix between Go/No-Go gages and automated inspection system (vision, scans, etc…)
  • Ensure consistent metrology practices throughout product development, from design validation to mass production.
  • Create a comprehensive metrology plan using 3D scanning, CMM, data visualization, and digital twin technologies to improve quality and precision.
  • Adopt advanced metrology techniques like GD&T, FAI, and measurement system analysis to meet aerospace and defense industry standards.
  • Lead efforts to analyze product quality using data, focusing on measurement accuracy and consistency in manufacturing.
  • Help supplier quality engineers enhance metrology practices to meet Anduril's quality standards.
  • Assist product quality engineers with RCCA, MRB, and incident management to address metrology-related quality issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering degree required.
  • Experience in leading metrology or manufacturing teams.
  • Knowledge of aerospace measurement techniques and quality management, including GD&T.
  • Skilled in enhancing product quality and measurement systems.
  • Familiar with product development processes and AS9100 standards.
  • Understands budgeting and forecasting.
  • Expert in mechanical/electrical manufacturing standards and practices.
  • Proficient in data analysis and using statistical software.
  • Able to analyze measurement data and report findings.
  • Experience with CMM and metrology software such as Polyworks.
  • Experience with large volume Metrology equipment such as Laser tracker, Laser radar, 3D scanner.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with leadership abilities.
  • Good at communication and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter, NX, Jira, and manufacturing execution systems.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance is a plus

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
