ABOUT THE ROLE

Anduril Industries is seeking a Site Lead [General Manager] for our Composites production facility in North Carolina. This position will provide top-level strategic leadership for the growth of the organization and lead communications with key internal and external customers and supplier leadership. The ideal candidate has experience running and scaling a manufacturing organization as it transitions from prototyping into production. It is also strongly encouraged that they have a good understanding of composite manufacturing and/or integration, along with the safety regulations in such industries. This role requires in-depth knowledge of business strategy, corporate finance, and lean manufacturing practices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drive the composites production facility through a stage of hypergrowth as it scales from prototypes into production.
  • Develop partnerships with engineering teams across all business lines and facilitate prototype development in service of Anduril new product development.
  • Responsible for end-to-end ownership of all business functions - including new project definition, production execution, facilities, and staffing.
  • Own and support the relationships with internal and external customers and vendor senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute the strategy on expanding Anduril composites production capabilities domestically and abroad, including vertical integration of key supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Push for continuous improvement of Anduril’s manufacturing processes for composites products, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Manage the North Carolina cost center in partnership with a FP&A partner to track financial health of budget against goals, drive actions to maintain operating expenses with budget, assess financial data and create strategies to drive toward cost targets.
  • Drive content preparation for Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews for presentation to Anduril Executives.
  • Shape and execute the North Carolina composites business strategy in alignment with greater Anduril functions/interests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, manufacturing, business management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring team leadership and leading complex projects.
  • Proven experience running teams with 50+ personnel and managing capital expenditure projects of $25M+
  • Proven ability to work with complex systems through leading both engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype to full-rate production.
  • Experience interfacing with leadership and executives - you understand how to cultivate trust and facilitate meetings for and engage with executives.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to solve operational problems not only from a data-driven lens, but also in a people-centric way by building strong cross functional relationships across the company and within the hardware engineering organization.
  • Combined ability to execute on a tactical level as well as put together a strategy to solve complex, ambiguous, cross-functional problems. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into executing operational tasks that require high attention to detail and high organization skills, but you can also zoom out at a 30,000 foot level to create a strategy that solves high level problems for the business line, division, and company.
  • This role will manage teams and interface with customers/suppliers across multiple states and countries, requiring some travel
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of executive level experience (C-Staff, GM, President and/or VP)
  • Proven experience running teams with 150+ personnel and managing capital expenditure projects of $100M+.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • MBA or equivalent continuing education in business operations
  • 7 years or more of relevant experience in composites manufacturing and/or integration within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and certifications relevant to composite manufacturing.
US Salary Range
$225,000$298,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
