Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Associate to play a key role in our expanding organization. This versatile individual will be responsible for supporting crucial operational functions, including general operations, executive assistance, and other support tasks. In this role, you will oversee purchasing and vendor management, coordinate insurance administration, and contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies. You will manage inventory and supplies, help maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with relevant company policies and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with Atum Work’s goals and objectives.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution of laboratory equipment, supplies, and reagents. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures to meet industry and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee facilities, ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for operations, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance operational processes to increase efficiency and productivity. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for smoother operations.
  • IT Support and Coordination: Assist with the management and troubleshooting of IT systems, including hardware, software, and network resources. Collaborate with external IT support vendors as needed to ensure system reliability and data security.
  • Purchasing and Vendor Management: Oversee purchasing processes, including preparing purchase orders, reviewing terms and conditions, and qualifying vendors. Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Insurance Administration: Manage and coordinate company insurance policies, including liability, directors and officers (D&O), cyber, and employment practices liability insurance (EPLI). Work with brokers and insurers to ensure adequate coverage and timely renewals.
  • Executive Support: Provide executive-level assistance, including schedule management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering related field preferred; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years+ in operations. Experience with start-ups is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of waste management and handling of hazardous materials.

Compensation And Benefits

  • $75-90k (depending on level of experience) + equity
