Job Title: Field Technician

Job Type: This is a full time position

Location: Prince George’s County/DC. Remote approx area to manage 1 hour radius from Landover. Ideally located close to Landover, MD

Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent, customer-obsessed, organized, and analytical Field Technician to maintain our solar-powered camera products deployed in the field. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for solving technical problems, and a commitment to ensuring our systems operate at peak performance. This role involves diagnosing and resolving issues related to solar panels, batteries, and cameras, as well as performing necessary upgrades and adjustments.

  • This is not a 9-5 pm role. It is spoken of as a get up and go make it happen role. Work hours are M-F with occasional extended hours in order to meet project deadlines and customer expectations You must take ownership and responsibility for your geographical area. You need to identify the challenges and propose solutions. You need to be proactive and engage with a wider team. The Team needs your insight and you need to draw information and learnings from the team to grow in this role and be effective.
  • Must be able to plan workload based on minimal input - balancing logistics of travel, traffic and customer priorities. Must react to service needs in your area promptly
  • Communication is key - must reach out for information, communicate status regularly. Communicate issues and progress throughout the day. You are not expected to know everything and on going learning and sharing knowledge is central to success in this role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance:
  • Install and configure solar-powered camera systems at various field locations. Locations are a mix of fixed installations and moveable light duty trailers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal operation of the camera systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to solar panels, batteries, and camera components.
  • Trailers are moved on a schedule within a town and within a geographic area.
  • Maintain storage of spare inventory
  • Customer Support:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Technical Upgrades and Adjustments:
  • Identify and implement necessary upgrades to camera hardware and software.
  • Make precise adjustments to camera settings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback and suggest improvements.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on system performance and customer interactions.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Manage storage location for inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Keep inventory storage organized and remove trash etc as needed
  • Receive and put away inventory, perform inventory count.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a field technician, preferably in solar power or camera systems.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of solar power systems, batteries, and camera technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Finding and fixing issues is a vital capability for this position. Handyman- like experience whether personally or professionally
  • Superior customer service skills with a focus on empathy and effective communication.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various field locations. Must be able to hitch and tow a small trailer.

Education:

  • Associate and/or Bachelor degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Frequent outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, hot and cold conditions.
  • Capability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 Lbs and ascending or descending ladders.

Pay: $58,000 to $64,400 annually

Experience level: 2 Years
