🔍 Why we’re looking for you

We are seeking a visionary Staff-level Developer Ops and Security Engineer to lead our efforts in integrating security throughout our development processes. Your expertise will be crucial in building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and efficient application layer that supports our rapid growth. You'll work closely with technology teams to implement best practices, automate security processes, and foster a culture of security-first thinking across the organization.

This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

💥 The impact you will have

Implement "shift-left" security strategies, integrating automated security practices early in the development lifecycle to prevent vulnerabilities
Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated security testing and vulnerability scanning
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistent and secure deployments across environments
Enhance our cloud security posture through proper configuration, monitoring, and incident response procedures
Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle
Mentor and guide other team members on DevSecOps practices and security principles

🤝 Who you’ll work with

This role will be part of our small but mighty Platform Eng group.
You will work closely with engineers across the technology org, our product managers, and other members of the Platform Eng group.

✅ What we’re looking for

6+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on security practices and principles
Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of security best practices, compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR), and common vulnerabilities
Experience implementing and managing security tools for vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, and secrets management
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Track record of successfully leading and implementing DevSecOps initiatives in fast-paced environments

🏆 Pay and benefits

The estimated base salary range for this role is $200 - 230K plus a generous pre-IPO equity package
