Role Overview

Promise is building MUSE, the next-generation platform where AI meets VFX to revolutionize how content is created. We're looking for a passionate and talented Pipeline TD to join our innovative team and help us push the boundaries of what's possible by blending cutting-edge technology with artistic vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Development

  • Report directly to the VP of Product to align technical priorities and ensure all development directly supports the pipeline and production needs.

  • Run code reviews and enforce established software standards and practices across the Production Team's GitHub repositories and workflows.

  • Work with the VP of Product to develop proper documentation based on an agile methodology.

  • Conform to Product R&D operational and coding standards, including adding descriptive doc-strings for automated code reference.

  • Act as a central technical resource to adapt the existing pipeline and tools to support our new, GenAI-first approach to production.

  • Build, maintain, and optimize tools and systems to accelerate content creation and rendering pipelines.

  • Help set up and maintain core integration systems, including AYON, LucidLink, GitHub, MUSE, and third-party implementations.

  • Develop elegant solutions, such as plugins and quick scripts, to speed up workflows, alleviate bottlenecks, and automate bespoke or repetitive tasks that consume artist time.

  • Support the MUSE pipeline as it relates to GenAI, animation, asset ingest, setup, and third-party API implementation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate with Creative Tech, and R&D teams to identify broader issues that will boost efficiencies across all shows (GenCo) and the studio at large.

  • Operate as a front-line technical resource for product and artists, providing support and guidance on tool usage and best practices.

Qualifications

• Previous CG production experience in feature films, broadcast, or games.

• A deep understanding of artist workflows and how the tools they use function.

• A passion for moving technology forward to empower artist creativity through the alleviation of multi-stepped technical processes.

• Self-motivated problem solver with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

• Excellent ability to work well with others in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Thrive in a dynamic startup environment where versatility is key. This role requires adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to contribute across multiple domains as needs evolve.

Technical Skills / Qualifications

• Very strong Python knowledge and experience using the Python API of a Digital Content Creation (DCC) application.

• Strong experience with ComfyUI.

• Expert-level user of at least one or all of the following applications: Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, Nuke, Houdini.

• Experience with Unreal Engine and setting up/maintaining version control systems.

• Familiarity with the concepts of registering files on a database to facilitate team workflows across multiple projects.
