About Reframe Systems
We’re on a mission to build climate resilient housing at scale. To achieve that we’re re-imagining how homes are designed and built: our volumetric modular platform + highly-automated microfactory production result in lower cost, faster delivery, and dramatically reduced embodied carbon. Our first digital factory is based in Andover, MA with a roadmap to scale nationally.
What We’re Looking For
We need a seasoned Lead Carpenter who blends top-tier carpentry skill with on-the-floor leadership. You will guide a small crew, take ownership of complex assemblies, ensure our factory and field work meets the precision, quality and speed required for modular manufacturing. You’re hands-on, reliable, teachable, and committed to raising the bar.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Workflow
Lead and supervise a crew of 2-4 carpenters/apprentices; set daily priorities, assign tasks, enforce flow and pace.
Serve as the on-site technical resource: diagnosing issues, troubleshooting assemblies, mentoring team.
Collaborate with Production/Site Manager: integrate your team’s work into the schedule, escalate risks, align factory & field execution.
Technical Execution
Execute complex carpentry tasks in factory and on job-site: framing, sheathing, installation of windows/doors, structural elements.
Read and interpret detailed shop drawings and construction drawings to tight tolerances; ensure team adherence.
Conduct quality inspections: verify team output, check alignment, tolerances, finishes — ensure durable, factory-grade assemblies.
Operate and maintain a full suite of carpentry tools: saws, nailers, routers, power-tools, measuring instruments.
-
Occasionally participate in on-site installation of modular units, oversee final assemblies post delivery.
Qualifications
15+ years of carpentry experience (residential, modular or commercial) and a track record of craftsmanship.
3+ years in a leadership role (Lead Hand, Foreman, Supervisor) where you’ve directed a team and driven results.
Expert proficiency in framing, sheathing, door/window install and structural assemblies.
Strong ability to read and interpret complex drawings and digital fabrication output.
Proficient with precision measuring instruments, hand tools and standard power tools.
Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to manage competing priorities and lead a team.
Strong commitment to safety, high quality craftsmanship and collaboration.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform overhead work for extended durations.
